How it works

How a battle works

Rest, choose a target, offer a blocker, play Counters, then compare power.

← How to play One Piece

Announce an attack by resting a standing Leader or Character. Point at the opponent’s Leader or at one of their rested Characters. You cannot usually swing at a standing Character.

They may rest a standing Blocker to change the target. Then either player may play Counter Events from hand. Then compare power. Higher power wins the battle. If you hit the Leader, they take a life (or lose if life was already 0).

If you hit a Character and your power is higher, that Character is KO’d. Equal power KOs both unless a card says otherwise.

You may attack more than once per turn if you have more standing attackers. There is no separate “combat phase” — attacks happen during Main, mixed with playing cards.
